Our zipper pouch packaging machine is specially designed for pre-made bags with resealable zippers. This automatic machine handles the entire process from bag picking, zipper opening, bottom opening, filling, sealing, to output. It is widely used for packaging snacks, nuts, dried fruits, pet food, coffee beans, and powdered products. The machine operates at speeds from 20 to 60 bags per minute depending on product characteristics and bag size.

How the Zipper Pouch Machine Works

Bag Feeding & Pick Up
Pre-made zipper bags are loaded into a magazine. A suction cup system picks up one bag at a time and transfers it to the bag clamping station. The machine automatically detects any misfed bags to prevent waste.

Zipper Opening & Bag Opening
A dedicated zipper opening device uses mechanical fingers or suction cups to open the zipper teeth before the bag is fully opened. This step is critical for zipper bags because the interlocking teeth can be difficult to separate. After the zipper is opened, the bag body is opened by bottom suction cups to create a full opening for filling.

Filling Station
Depending on your product, we can equip the machine with different filling systems. An auger filler is used for powders like protein powder or coffee. A piston filler is used for liquids and sauces. A multi-head weigher is used for granules like nuts and snacks. A combination filler can handle multiple product types on the same machine.

Sealing Station
After filling, the bag moves to the sealing station. The machine first seals the bottom of the zipper area, then seals the top of the bag. For zipper bags, the sealing jaws are designed to avoid melting or damaging the zipper teeth. Temperature and pressure are precisely controlled by a PLC system with digital display.

Output Conveyor
Finished bags are discharged onto an output conveyor which transports them to the next packaging stage such as checkweigher, metal detector, or cartoning machine.
